Our Food Hub

The purpose of any food hub is to connect communities East of the River, in Washington D.C.'s Ward 7 & Ward 8, directly with food sources. Dreaming Out Loud's mission doesn't stop there! We work to increase access to families in all surrounding areas where people are in need of healthy food. We do that by facilitating the production and distribution of food from the soil to the plate.

We have two urban farms in the city of D.C., but we know that there are more challenges than land access when it comes to getting locally grown and locally sourced food into households. Learn more about every part of our organization's food story below!

We Deliver!

Created by Booker T. Whatley , the idea behind Community Supported Agriculture was to ensure that farmers had the funds they needed to grow the food that they then put back into their community. The grocery subscriptions that you sign up for do exactly that! Click below to learn more

Our Markets

We don't just sell online, we also host farmers' markets every year. We also sell food and produce through markets hosted by our strategic partners, and events that we host at our farms, and we are getting ready to open a market in Ward 8 that you'll be able to walk into before the end of 2025!

We Cook, Too!

Using ingredients that we procure from the farms in Dreaming Out Loud's networks, our culinary team prepares healthy food to sell through our markets and for catered events. We don't care if you're hosting a party or launching an event for your organization, we are ready to fix you a plate and satisfy your tastebuds!
