Dreaming Out Loud is committed to the residents of DC and the surrounding areas of the city we love. We cannot be effective in our communities without our greatest asset - our community members. Whether it is through donations, giving of your time, sharing our message with your networks, or partnering with us on a project - your involvement is critical to the impact that we can have on the folks we serve.
Families East of the River have been consistently underserved and underinvested. Oftentimes, those who are making decisions about our needs and how to meet our needs are individuals and institutions who are not present in our homes, our schools, our houses of worship, and our grocery stores. Big ideas are pledged, change appears to be within reach, but we are left with short-term solutions or broken promises. The truth is, nobody will see sustainable progress through to the end with the same passion and clarity of purpose as those who live and work alongside us.
To achieve true food sovereignty, we are committed to including the community in our work at every step of the way.
