Farm and Food Hub

Our urban farms boast of youth gardens, community raised beds, composting systems and hoop houses. Realizing the strength and value of our partners, we incorporate them in our programming since they are integral to our success.  Joint programming is undertaken with organizations such as City Blossoms, Loop Closing, Rooted and Sustained and DC Central Kitchen regularly. Overall, holistic programming, events, tours, field trips and volunteer opportunities are realized through  land granted to Dreaming Out Loud by  DC’s Department of Parks and Recreation.

Fort Stanton Farm

The Farm at Fort Stanton is a one-acre full-production farm and community gathering space located in Ward 8. Together with our partners, the space provides engaging farming activities to youth, seniors, and other community members.

Kelly Miller Farm

The Farm at Kelly Miller (FKM) is a 2-acre urban farm located in Lincoln Heights (Ward 7), Washington DC. Established in 2018, the farm enables Dreaming Out Loud to cultivate sustainably grown vegetables, fruits and herbs for our  CSA shares, wholesale markets and on-site U-Picks.

DOL facilitates the aggregation and distribution of fresh, local produce from our farms and low-resourced farmers in our supply network (link to our partner supply network map will be embedded here)  to Kelly Miller Middle School and other community-based entities. Activities carried out through the food hub include wholesale operations and sales. As a result, marginalized farmers are provided with opportunities for scaling their farm operations and market access.
