Farm & Food Hub at Kelly Miller

The Farm at Kelly Miller is a two-acre urban farm located in Ward 7 in Washington DC. Situated behind Kelly Miller Middle School, the farm includes a production farm, youth garden, community raised beds, fruit tree orchard, multi bin composting system and event space. Established in 2018, The Farm at Kelly Miller provides sustainably grown vegetables, fruits and herbs for DOL’s farmshare and wholesale markets and on site U-Picks.

The Farm at Kelly Miller is centered around community and through partnerships with City Blossoms, Loop Closing, Kelly Miller Middle School, DPR and DC Central Kitchen is able to provide holistic programming for people of all ages. A truly intergenerational space, the farm provides youth programming and field trips for students 0-18, volunteer opportunities for teens and adults and community based events, including a monthly Drum Circle, Herbal Mutual Aid Apothecary, Weekly Composting Classes and more.

If you are interested in volunteering with us you can sign up at the DOL Volunteer Site to explore current opportunities!

We offer weekly volunteer days every Wednesday and Friday from 10-3 pm from April to November. Volunteers assist with daily farm tasks which include planting, weeding, harvesting, bed prep, composting and more. Volunteers may also assist with harvesting and product making for our Herbal Mutual Aid Apothecary. The Apothecary provides free or low cost herbal products to DC residents. This opportunity is great for anyone who is interested in learning how to grow food, or just wants to find a way to support the organization and Kelly Miller community.
